Bicarbonate of Soda is also known as sodium bicarbonate and baking soda. It's a leavening agent used in many baked goods, such as cookies, cakes and muffins.
You can store Bi-carb of soda, unopened, at room temperature for up to 18 months.
After opening, it will store at room temperature for about 6 months for the best quality.
To test if your bicarbonate of soda is still active, spoon some into a bowl, and add a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar. If it starts to fizz immediately and vigorously, the bicarbonate of soda will still work well in your recipes.
A good rule of thumb for freezing spaghetti is to slightly undercook it before freezing. This helps maintain a better texture when reheated. Making sure each noodle is well-coated with olive oil or spaghetti sauce can also prevent clumping and freezer burn.
