Be sure to glove your hands when handling Annatto Seeds. They stain everything, which is what makes them a great natural food coloring.

Ingredients:
Qty Unit Ingredient
1 tablespoon Annatto Seeds
1/4 cup Water
Prep Time Process Time Overall Time
20 Minutes 5 Minutes 25 minutes
Directions:

1. Soak annatto seeds in water for 15 to 20 minutes.

2. With your gloved fingers, squeeze color out of the seeds in water, until water turns orange or red, depending on your preference.

3. Drain liquid into container and discard seeds, they have served their purpose.

4. Use this liquid as a natural food coloring when a recipe calls for food coloring.

5. Be sure to label and date your container.
