- Soak the dried Fava Beans in water for 12 hours.
1. Drain the beans and slip them out of their skins.
2. Set the skinned beans in a pot with the onion and just enough water to cover.
3. Turn the heat to medium, bring to a boil.
4. Add 1 tablespoon salt and reduce to a simmer.
5. Cover and cook until the water has almost evaporated and the Fava beans are tender about 20 to 25 minutes.
