1. Add: Pour 1 cup of baking soda directly through a funnel into the bottom of a clean, empty 1-gallon plastic jug.
2. Pour: Measure 1/4 cup of ammonia carefully and pour it straight into the plastic jug over the baking soda.
3. Scent: Measure 1 tablespoon of lemon extract and add it directly into the mixture inside the container.
4. Fill: Pour 16 cups of warm water slowly into the container until the full gallon mark is reached.
5. Cap: Secure the plastic lid on the jug tightly and shake it gently to dissolve the baking soda particles completely.
6. Label: Mark the outside of the plastic container clearly with a marker for home safety, and store it completely out of reach of children.
7. Transfer: Pour a small portion of the liquid solution into a clean plastic spray bottle whenever you need to use it.
8. Mist: Spray a light mist of the deodorizer around any room to eliminate unpleasant odors, taking care to avoid direct contact with fine wood furniture, pets, or delicate fabrics.
9. Fresh: Enjoy the bright, crisp scent of fresh lemons drifting through your home.
If your homemade mayonnaise separates, you can often fix it by whisking in a tablespoon of cold water. If that doesn't work, start with a new egg yolk in a bowl and gradually whisk in the broken mayonnaise. This simple hack can save your sauce and restore its creaminess.
