Buttery Rice Pilaf

Ingredients are for 6 Servings

Ingredients:
Qty Unit Ingredient
1/4 cup Margarine
1 teaspoon Salt
2 cups White rice » long grain
4 cups Water
1/4 cup Butter » cubed
Prep Time Process Time Overall Time
20 Minutes 15 Minutes 35 minutes
Directions:

1. On the stove top; melt margarine in a heavy, large saucepan over medium-high heat.

2. Add the salt and long grain rice.

3. Sauté until rice is golden brown, about 8 minutes.

4. Add water and boil until water is absorbed, about 10 minutes.

5. Stir in the butter.

6. Cover, reduce heat to very low and cook until rice is tender, stirring occasionally.

7. This takes about 15 minutes.
